Mega Evolution-Delta Reign: Everything Confirmed Before the November 6 Release
Mega Rayquaza ex leads Delta Reign on November 6. What's officially confirmed about the set, the two-card Stadiums, prerelease promos, and what's still just reported.
My take: this set will be a good pulse check on the modern market, since it’s the first release after the 30th Celebration. I expect some turbulence at first, but I think it does fairly well, since nothing has released in two to three months. Rayquaza lovers, rejoice.
Two and a half weeks out, and the next Mega Evolution set is close enough to smell the booster wrappers. Here’s where Delta Reign actually stands, with the confirmed stuff separated from the internet’s best guesses.
The basics
Straight from Pokemon.com’s set page:
| Detail | Confirmed |
|---|---|
| Name | Mega Evolution-Delta Reign |
| Series | Mega Evolution Series |
| Release date | November 6, 2026 |
| Card count | Over 135 |
| Trainer cards | More than 20 |
| Special illustration cards | More than 35 Pokémon and Trainer cards |
That “over 135” is the official number. Pokémon’s own October preview article said more than 140, so expect the final list to land somewhere above the floor.
The headliners
Mega Rayquaza ex is the face of the set, and it’s bringing friends: Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex, and Mega Golisopod ex are all on the official page. Four new Megas in one set keeps the Mega Evolution era’s pace going, and Rayquaza headlining anything tends to get collectors’ attention all by itself.

The two-card Stadiums are official
Early coverage of the Japanese cards said Delta Reign’s new “Legendary” Stadiums come in two halves that you combine to play. That’s no longer just a report. Pokémon’s set page shows both halves of Legendary Summit, and the card text says it can’t be played by itself: you need two different Legendary Summit cards. Pokémon’s October 5 preview showed another one, Legendary Pyroduct, which shuts off Evolution Pokémon’s Abilities while it’s in play (our breakdown).

Cards officially previewed so far
Beyond the set page and the Pyroduct preview, Pokémon’s September 21 preview feature showed a fun mix:
- Heat Rotom ex - 190 HP. Rewarm does 30 damage per Basic Fire Energy in your discard pile and shuffles them back into your deck, while Strong Flare hits for 170 at the cost of discarding two Energy.
- Groudon - Brutal Lands does 100 base, plus 170 more if a Stadium with “Legendary” in its name is in play. Now we know exactly which Stadiums it’s pointing at.
- Kommo-o - Beat Scales lets you look at the top six cards of your deck and attach Basic Energy you find to your Dragon-types, then Hammer In does 170 for three Energy. Art by Mitsuhiro Arita, which longtime collectors will recognize as a name with some history.
- Delibird - Energizing Present finds an Energy from the top six of your deck once per turn while Delibird is Active. A support bird, not an attacker, despite the “Present” branding.
- Zinnia’s Trust - a Supporter that switches your Active with a Benched Pokémon and moves an Energy along with it.

Prerelease starts October 24
If you want the set early, it’s officially confirmed: starting October 24, select Play! Pokémon stores sell the Delta Reign Build & Battle Box. Each one has four booster packs, a 40-card ready-to-play deck, and one of four foil promos: Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus, or Kommo-o (our promo guide).
Prerelease events run 40-card decks with four Prize cards, so they’re quick and casual. Good excuse to hit the local shop.
The product lineup
Pokémon Center’s own listings confirm three products so far: the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box ($59.99, 11 packs, two full-art foil Kyogre promos), a six-pack Booster Bundle ($26.94), and the 36-pack Booster Display Box ($161.64). All three showed unavailable when we checked on October 1 (our preorder update).
Outlet coverage (CardJinx’s product guide) adds more: a standard ETB with a Kyogre Illustration Rare promo carried over from the Japanese Storm Emeralda set, and a wider-than-usual blister lineup with exclusive promos. Treat those specifics as reported until Pokémon’s own product pages spell them out.
What’s reported, not confirmed
- Full rarity breakdown. Numbers like six Special Illustration Rares and 14 Illustration Rares come from outlet guides, not Pokemon.com. The official line is “more than 35 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations.”
- Same-day anniversary products. Outlets report the 30th anniversary Ultra-Premium Collection and related items land November 6 too. Big day if it holds.
The bottom line
Confirmed and worth planning around: Delta Reign releases November 6, prerelease Build & Battle Boxes start October 24, Mega Rayquaza ex headlines with three more Megas alongside, two-card “Legendary” Stadiums are real, and the set is 135+ cards with a heavy special-illustration count. Everything else is “wait and see” territory, which, let’s be honest, is half the fun of a new set.
