Topps Ripped published its collector guide for 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball on October 8. Short version: new season, big rookie class, and a couple of star jersey changes that will get people talking at the card shop.

Base set and variations

The 300-card base set comes with a deep parallel list, including one-of-one FoilFractors. Variations named in the guide: Golden Mirror Image, Team, Wood, and Clear (a Flagship Basketball first).

Fun detail: the Player Number Variation returns. Low jersey number, tiny print run. Yes, that means a player wearing 2 is a nightmare to find, and a player wearing 77 is a lot friendlier.

Autographs and relics

  • Flagship Real One Autographs: the usual headliner. Ripped shows a color-match Orange parallel of Jalen Brunson, called the 2026 NBA Finals MVP in the guide.
  • Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs: Ripped highlights a Caleb Wilson Red FoilFractor numbered to five.
  • 1981-82 Topps Autographs: vintage-design autos, with Mikel Brown Jr. shown as a rookie.
  • Flagship Real One Relics: a Red FoilFractor Cade Cunningham relic numbered to five is the featured example.

Inserts: Hardwood Stars, Bounce, All Kings

Hardwood Stars is the short-printed insert inspired by the MLB Heavy Lumber insert, and Cameron Boozer is on the checklist. Bounce is a new insert design built around athleticism. All Kings is back, with the Gold 1/1 as the big twist.

Release date and prices

Topps’ guide to the cards doesn’t cover release timing, but its box guide lists an October 22, 2026 street date, subject to change. Checklist Insider now shows November 5, so confirm before you plan a release-day rip.

Topps opened presales October 6, per Checklist Insider: Hobby $169.99, Jumbo $339.99, Mega $59.99, Value Blaster $29.99. For what each of the seven formats contains, see our 2026-27 Topps Basketball box guide. Pack odds haven’t been published.

Our take

The rookie class is the draw, and the LeBron and Giannis team-change cards are the kind of thing people want in the binder even if they never open a box.
