Seven formats, a 300-card base set, and a rookie class led by AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Boozer: 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball is not short on choices. Topps’s September 28 format guide gives us a useful starting point. The best box depends on whether you want a guaranteed autograph, a pile of cards, or one particular exclusive parallel.

Seven formats at a glance

FormatCards and stated contentsExclusive draw
Hobby20 packs x 12; one autograph or relic per boxVictory parallels, Player Number Variations
Hobby Jumbo10 packs x 28; one autograph and one relic per boxSandglitter parallels

Hanger Pack48 cards; two Diamante parallels and one 1981-82 insertDiamante parallels
Fat Pack24 cards; two insertsSmall one-pack sample

These are Topps’s stated configurations, not a price comparison or promise that every possible hit is in every box. Retail formats can contain autos, but Jumbo is the one Topps explicitly says includes an autograph in every box. The word and is doing some work there.

Pick your lane

If your goal is a guaranteed autograph and relic, Jumbo is the clear format on paper. Hobby is the lower-card-count hobby path, with an auto or relic, while Mega offers 180 cards and four throwback-design inserts. A specific exclusive parallel could instead point you toward Value, Fanatics Value, or Hanger. A Fat Pack is the low-commitment sampler, though its actual price still matters. Check current odds and prices before calling any of them a bargain.

What else is new

Topps describes new acetate Clear Variations, new Bounce and Quest for the Crown inserts, and the first Gold 1/1 All Kings cards in this basketball line. The publisher lists an October 22, 2026 street date, subject to change; Checklist Insider now shows November 5, so confirm before release day. Presales opened October 6 at $169.99 Hobby, $339.99 Jumbo, $59.99 Mega and $29.99 Value Blaster (Checklist Insider). For the standout cards, see our top-cards guide. The official Topps Flagship page backs the 300-card set and rookie focus. If you’re building a player collection, wait for the full checklist and pick the format that carries your desired insert or parallel. Seven boxes are not seven obligations.
