My take: this one feels like a flash in the pan. I’ll be honest, I don’t know how deep Jennie’s fan base runs in the card world, and box prices have already doubled. Unless you’re a die-hard fan chasing a big 1/1 that hasn’t been pulled yet, this is one to sit out. Enjoy this concert from the cheap seats.

A K-pop superstar, a chromium finish, and a product billed as a first for the Chrome brand. The sports card world’s newest neighbor is officially here.

What it is

2026 Topps Chrome x Jennie is a Topps Chrome set built entirely around one musical artist: Jennie Kim of BLACKPINK, in her solo era. Every card is Jennie, with original photoshoot imagery on the base cards plus content tied to her live performances and her debut solo album, Ruby. Launch coverage calls it the first Topps Chrome set built around a solo K-pop artist.

The release

The box released October 20, 2026 as an online exclusive on Topps.com, after presales opened August 20. Retail was $79.99 per 10-card box, per Checklist Insider, resell.ing and TCGKing. resell.ing also lists $399.99 for a 5-box case on Topps.com. Billboard covered the preorder in August, which is not the treatment most card releases get.

Topps.com blocks automated checks, so we couldn’t confirm current stock there. Check who’s actually selling before you pay anything above retail.

What’s in a box

ContentsPer box
Cards10
Base parallels2
Inserts2 (on average)

The box itself warns that packs with a special insert may contain only 3 cards. Sources disagree on how the 10 cards are split into packs (Checklist Insider says two packs of five; TCGKing says one pack of ten), so we’re sticking to the per-box numbers.

The checklist

From the Topps checklist as transcribed by Checklist Insider (Topps notes it’s subject to change):

  • Base: 30 cards, all original Jennie photoshoot imagery
  • Chromium Close-Ups: 10 cards, about 1 in 2 packs
  • Monochrome Mementos: 10 cards, about 1 in 5 packs, Instax-styled with a facsimile signature
  • Ruby SP: 2 cards, 1 in 31 packs
  • Ruby SSP: 1 card, about 1 in 151 to 1 in 155 packs (Checklist Insider’s two lists differ slightly)

Put those autograph odds in box terms: even the most common autograph is roughly 1 in 838 packs, so most boxes won’t have one. This is a chase product with a short checklist, not a hit-per-box product.

Why it’s getting attention

It’s a genuine first for Chrome, and it brings the K-pop fanbase into the hobby through a premium product. Mainstream music press covered the preorder, and the secondary market jumped right away (below). Whether the attention turns into long-term collector demand is an open question. One launch doesn’t answer it.

Secondary market check

We couldn’t pull eBay sold listings directly, so these numbers come from resell.ing’s analysis of eBay sold listings, checked October 20. Their method counted single factory-sealed U.S. boxes only, with no lots, cases, empty boxes or overseas sellers.

  • Boxes: 38 U.S. sales from October 18 to 20, displayed at $129 to $185, with the middle around $160. Many were presales or Best Offer listings, and accepted-offer prices aren’t public.
  • 5-box cases: 11 U.S. sales between $850 and $925, with the middle around $865.

Asking prices have gone higher since. Checklist Insider showed current eBay listings at $228 to $260 a box. Against the $79.99 retail price, that sold sample sits at roughly double retail, and the asks are closer to triple. Both describe an early rush rather than a settled market, and an asking price is never a selling price. Check sold listings before you pay a premium.

The bottom line

If you’re a Jennie fan, this is a well-built tribute: original imagery, Ruby-era short prints, concert-worn relics, and on-card autographs with a deep numbered rainbow. If you’re a card collector coming from sports, it’s a familiar Chrome structure in an unfamiliar lane. The hits are long odds, the checklist is one person, and the price is whatever the secondary market says this week.
