Three years ago, most American collectors could not buy a Topps Chrome Disney box without a forwarding address and a prayer. Today, sealed hobby boxes from all three Topps Chrome Disney releases are some of the most-watched wax in the non-sport market, and the prices have done nothing but climb. Here is what boxes have actually sold for, year by year, with real numbers instead of vibes.

A quick history of Topps Chrome Disney

Upper Deck held the Disney card license for years. That ended in September 2024, when Topps announced a global deal covering Disney, Pixar, and Marvel trading card rights. Topps had already dipped a toe in with 2023’s Topps Chrome Disney 100 Years of Wonder, a UK release for the Disney centennial, and followed it with the first full Topps Chrome Disney set in 2024, again UK and Europe only. The 2025 edition was the first worldwide release, and 2026’s set landed this past June.

For context on how far this train has gone: the 2023 Disney 100 UK hobby box was valued around $3,875 in a June 2026 market guide. That is the ancestor of everything below.

2024 Topps Chrome Disney: the UK-only one

The 2024 set released in October 2024 through Topps’ UK arm, 12 packs of 6 cards, with four numbered parallels per box on average. Because it was a European release, there was no US Topps.com presale price, and the original UK launch price was never widely published in the sources I could verify, so I will not guess at one here.

What I can show you is the climb once boxes reached American hands. Completed eBay sales tracked by PriceCharting tell the story:

  • December 2025: $534 to $700 per box
  • January to February 2026: $659 to $880
  • March 2026: a dip, $512 to $565
  • April 2026: $692 to $1,199
  • May to June 2026: $900 to $975, consistently

As of September 28, 2026, PriceCharting values a sealed 2024 hobby box at $941, with roughly one sale a week. A June 2026 hobby guide pegged it even higher, at $1,249.95. Auction houses have realized more for sealed boxes, but those results come with buyer’s premiums and small samples, so treat them as a ceiling rather than a going rate.

A box that changed hands around $500 last winter now sells in the $900s. That is close to a double in under a year for a product Americans could not even order directly.

2025 Topps Chrome Disney: the worldwide debut

The 2025 set was the first one US collectors could actually buy from Topps, and it set the template: an EQL raffle presale on August 26, 2025 at $399.99 per hobby box, with the price bumped to $419.99 by the September 24, 2025 release day. Same configuration: 12 packs, 6 cards per pack, four numbered parallels on average, plus the new headline of real autographs from Disney and Pixar voice talent.

The secondary market did not sit still:

  • June 2026: completed sales mostly $500 to $580
  • July 2026: $399 to $625
  • August 2026: $399 to $560
  • September 27, 2026: two completed sales at $999.99 and $1,000 (the second a best offer accepted on a $1,100 listing)

PriceCharting’s current computed value sits at $499.91, which tells you its algorithm is still digesting those two sales from September 27. Two boxes do not make a new market, but it is the first time 2025 hobby boxes have sold at that level, and it is exactly the kind of move worth watching. If you see more completed sales near $1,000 this week, the jump is real.

2026 Topps Chrome Disney: the newest one

The 2026 edition presold May 19, 2026 through another EQL raffle at $419.99, moved to a $429.99 launch price, and released June 17, 2026. Deepest autograph lineup yet, 30 new Mickey and Friends MLB jersey combinations, and the same 12 x 6 hobby configuration.

This is where the action is right now. Completed base hobby box sales tracked by PriceCharting:

  • Late June 2026: $499.99 to $580
  • August 2026: $495 to $539
  • September 5-7, 2026: $700 to $750, plus one outlier at $999.99
  • September 26, 2026: $750 (a best offer accepted on a $775 listing)

PriceCharting now values the box at $713.65, up from the low $500s in August. Don’t mix it up with the Sapphire Edition, a separate (and pricier) product whose boxes have sold for $885 to $950, and don’t let anyone quote Sapphire prices at you as if they were base hobby prices.

Retail hasn’t fully caught up. As of September 28, CardsHQ listed the box at $519.99, and Portland’s own The SportsRoom had it at $500 (marked down from $665). Both are below September’s completed sales. An earlier market report claimed boxes had passed $750; September’s sold prices now back that up.

Why the climb?

A few honest drivers. Supply is gated: Topps sells these through EQL raffles, so most collectors never get a box at presale price and the secondary market does the rationing. The checklist is the deepest character library in entertainment, and it refreshes every year with new anniversary inserts and new autograph signers. And the singles market keeps making headlines - SuperFractors and facsimile autos from these sets have brought five figures at auction - which pulls sealed wax prices up behind it. When the 1/1s sell like art, the boxes sell like lottery tickets.

So should you buy sealed Disney Chrome?

Uncle-mode truth: I am not your financial advisor, and neither is Mickey. The 2024 box has a real track record of appreciation. The 2025 box just printed its first $1,000 sales and needs a week or two to prove that is the new floor and not two enthusiastic buyers. The 2026 box has moved the fastest, from the low $500s in August to $700-plus in September, but it has only three months of sales history, so you are betting on the pattern repeating. If you buy, buy because you want the cards, and let the price action be dessert.
