The trademark mill has spoken, and it sounds like fire, thunder and rain. PokeBeach reports that Pokémon has filed three new trademarks, Magma Heartbeat, Lightning Impact and Aurora Ripples, under the same categories it uses for TCG set names.

The trademarks

Per PokeBeach’s October 28 report:

TrademarkJapaneseLikely reference
Magma Heartbeatマグマの鼓動Entei
Lightning Impactイナズマの衝撃Raikou
Aurora Ripplesオーロラの波紋Suicune

PokeBeach says the names reference Entei, Raikou and Suicune. Matching each name to a beast is our read: magma for Entei, lightning for Raikou, aurora for Suicune.

Trademarks filed under TCG set categories have historically been the first public hint of upcoming Japanese sets. But a filing reserves a name. It doesn’t announce a product, and Pokémon hasn’t confirmed anything.

What they point to

According to PokeBeach, the three names will headline the upcoming Pokémon ex★ (ex-star) series, which was teased at the World Championships in August. Beyond the name, nothing is known about that series yet, including what the ex★ mechanic actually does.

If the Johto Legendary Beasts theme holds, it would be a big spotlight for Entei, Raikou and Suicune, three Pokémon with deep collector followings. For now, the theme stays in the “possible” column.

Where Mega Evolution ends

Japan’s next High Class Pack, MEGA x MEGA Parade, starring Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, is reported for February 19, 2027. PokeBeach first reported that date in August, and it isn’t on an official release page yet. PokeBeach speculates the High Class Pack could close out the Mega Evolution series, with the three trademarked sets starting ex★ in the spring.

That timeline is one outlet’s read of the filings, not an official roadmap. Set names, mechanics and release order all stay in the “wait for the announcement” column. For what’s confirmed next in Japan, see our Aura Seeker breakdown.
